Valenwind: Spring Showers

Cid cursed as he threw his soggy pack of cigarettes down on the table in frustration. Now he needed to buy a whole new pack. It was absolutely pouring outside, and he was soaked through to the bone. Cid Highwind hated rain. Especially spring rain, it was always worse. Screw that stupid 'April showers, bring May flowers' crap. April and May could go to hell.

His clothes were clinging tightly to his body, making it awkward to move. Taking off his leather gloves he hung them from a hook where Tifa usually hug her own gloves. His shoes were next, kicked off in some random direction. He knew Tifa would get mad when she found a pair of muddy boots in her bar, but at the moment he didn't care. Had he already mentioned how much he hated rain?

He sat down on a chair and began to form of pile of wet clothing on the floor to take down to the laundry room. First came the socks. When he'd gotten dressed this morning they'd been pure white; brand new. Now they were black and brown, and he doubted they'd ever go back. Pulling his blue t-shirt off, he dropped it on top of the socks. He could already see a puddle forming around the soiled clothing.

Cid stood up to remove his pants. The bar was closed so he didn't need to worry about a costumer coming in and seeing him. The others were all doing something else. He couldn't remember what exactly.

It was fairly difficult, seeing as they were nearly a second skin. He hopped around a bit on one foot as he tried to shake it off the last bit clinging to his left ankle, swearing all the while. It was then that the life took an awkward spin.

"Cid?"

Cid turned to the direction his name came from. A little too fast. He lost his footing and was sent crashing to the floor with a curse. So there he was, sprawled on the floor in naught but his underwear, nearly completely exposed for whoever it was at the door. His face had also lodged itself into the wood. Fuck.

"Are you alright?" He knew that voice. It was that damn vampire. He sounded amused, and Cid did not like the fact he was the source for the gunman's rare mirth.

"Shut up, ya damned freak," Cid murmured angrily as he got up, picking his pants up in a ball and chucking them at the smirking older male.

Vincent swiftly dodged the pants, and they hit the wall with a splat.

Cid glared at the gunman as he watched him remove his red cloak, and drape it over his right arm . The other male was completely dry underneath. Even his hair looked as perfect as he'd seen it any other day. Cid's hair was beginning to frizz slightly from the lack of proper attention. Once again, Cid cursed the rain to oblivion.

"Cute boxers." Cid looked down, and turned a shade of crimson that could rival Reno's hair. They were pink with little golden chocobos on them; a gift from Shera. It was then that his state of undress truly hit home.

"I'm going to get changed," Cid said with a glare, turning abruptly around. This was mortifying. Stupid god-damn vampire.

He hadn't even taken a step forward before the gunman was standing before him. That damn smirk was still there.

"They are a bit wet, though. You don't want to catch a cold."

Perhaps rain had it's advantages.
