EDIT: Because I can't see my own f-ing stamp. Just because we don't like the same thing, doesn't mean we can't be friends.
I have friends that only ship cannon. I for the most part only ship yaoi. We get along though. Occasionally we can get in a disagreement about pairings, but for the most part, we can have a civil conversation.
Why is it people all over dA, or fanfiction.net can't get along?! It's incredibly stupid. I like cats. You like dogs. Does that mean we have to hate each other from the get-go?

I kind of want to dedicate this to two people.
First to ~DomaYuset. My cannon shipping friend. She's one of the most caring people I know, and even though we're only friends online, she means a lot to me. She's pep-talked me through a lot of problems. Thank-you so much.
Second to ~Mewithe. My BL loving friend. She's got all the 'Older Female' knowledge that I have yet to aquire. She's helped so much with all my teenage angst. xD She's like the big sister I wish I had. You're a great friend.
It really doesn't make sense to not be friends simply because you don't have the same likes. xD In fact, that's kind of what makes friendships more interesting! Sure, it's good to agree, but it gets boring if you're friends with yourself. xD

I totally agree with you. just because I like yaoi doesn't mean I can't be friends with people who hate it. Just because I dislike naruto doesn't mean I can't befriend Narutards. If a friendship is judged on merely likes and dislikes, the person questioning the friendship based on that factor is probably not worth being a friend anyway; due to their shallow set of beliefs.

"Don't be ridiculous, I'm a Christian man... Now, help me dump this body in the river. I think the police are onto me."
Friendship is like soup! Everyone adds a little bit of flavour. Sure some ingredients might look like they clash, but when it's all mixed together it tastes good. If the food is nothing but rotten it's going to ruin it.

Oh, man. So true! I was thinking of making a stamp like this, but the proper words didn't occur to me.
Being rude to someone just because they don't like what you like is pointless and dumb. There's another type of person, though, which actually gets on my nerves even more. They refuse to talk about pairings and characters altogether, for fear that we might offend each other because we like different things. Well isn't that nice, but why do we have to take it so personally? Disliking a character/pairing/story doesn't imply hating all its fans.
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".

Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!

Apparently, some people can't see that.
